Bridal/Wedding & Formal Wear Cleaning

For 30 years, and with the experience of having cleaned thousands of wedding dresses / bridal gowns, along with baptismal and Christening gowns, TSC WETCLEAN has developed the skills and advanced wet cleaning procedures to safely remove stains from all fabrics including gowns constructed of silk and satin. Few cleaners are capable of matching TSC WETCLEAN's experience, technology and superior stain removal successes. Here is an overview of our cleaning and preservation procedure.

  • Custom spotting and thorough stain removal.
  • Professional Wet Cleaning using advanced biodegradable detergents and conditioners.
  • Tighten beading and seams as required. Replace any missing ornamentation.
  • Custom hand finishing and pressing.
  • Customer Inspection of the gown prior to boxing.
  • Package using Lignin- free Museum Quality Archival box with acid-free tissue.

We clean and hand finish your gown with the utmost care. Once your gown is cleaned you will receive a call to visit us again so that you can carefully examine your wedding dress.  We feel this is an important process and provides peace of mind for our clientele, and ensures that the gown is cleaned and ready for preservation.

Wedding gowns are then packaged in Museum Quality Archival boxes constructed of lignin-free, 92% alpha cellulose paper, which is also lined with acid free tissue. As an extra level of protection, a Muslin cotton liner is used to wrap the gown. This liner is a natural cotton which contains no sizing or finishing treatments.

TSC WETCLEAN is not limited to the cleaning and preservation of wedding gowns only.  We offer this service for Baptismal and Christening gowns, Teddy Bears and other stuffed toys, along with special blankets.  Basically anything you would like preserved as an heirloom.

TERMINOLOGY DEFINED

ACID-FREE
Acid causes paper to disintegrate. This aging process is significantly slowed when the acid is removed from paper during the manufacturing process.
LIGNIN-FREE
Lignin is the natural bonding element which holds wood fibers together. For example, newspaper contains lignin - you will have noticed that newspaper can become brittle and discolored with age!  Like acid, lignin can be removed during the manufacturing process so suitable products should be labeled lignin free or archival quality.

ARCHIVAL QUALITY
This term is only applied to products which have been specially tested to measure their acidic and buffered content and it has been shown to fall within acceptable parameters/safe levels.

SUITABLE STORAGE CONDITIONS
Air conditioning in which the temperature is in the 65-70°F (18-21°C) range and the relative humidity is between 40% and 50% is ideal for your wedding gown preservation box storage.
